Adel Elmessiry, Ph.D. is a seasoned technology entrepreneur, published expert on AI and Blockchain, mentor, advisor, and speaker. He currently serves as the President/CTO & Co-Founder of AlphaFin, a Draper Goren Holm portfolio company with a mission to build the next financial technology ecosystem that will empower the global economy. Adel has a proven executive experience with a solid track record that includes over 10 years at HealthStream and 7 years at InVivoLink/HealthTrust, and 4 years at UtilizeHealth. Academically, Adel holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science at NCSU Natural Language Processing, with more than a dozen publications and inventions. He has seen applications from inception to sunset for almost 20 years period. As Chief Technology Officer, Adel is responsible for the strategic business technology vision and leads the product management and development teams. He understands that as a leader, he is only as good as his team and enjoys understanding every team member and how they can be set to shine. He strategically plants the seeds and nourishes them to grow to achieve their potential. Adel believes that having the right mix is critical to company success, which includes individuals who believe in the mission and take ownership to achieve it. Adel has had three successful technology companies taken from inception to acquisition and has seen quite a bit of different companies and technologies in both startups and enterprise settings. His current company, AlphaFin, aims to create an ecosystem of innovative new-wave decentralized financial systems collaborating to achieve better inclusion and access for the entire global economy. Adel is a panelist, presenter, and speaker at various conferences and summits, including Nashville Cybersecurity Conference, SWITCH 2019, Blockchain Health Summit, and Distributed Health 2018 and 2017. He has also served on several panels discussing topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Cyber/Computer Forensics and Counterterrorism, and Blockchain.
